H.E. Uzra Zeya, Under Secretary of State for Civilian Security, Democracy, and Human Rights visited IAAC

On February 6, 2023, Mr. Dashdavaa, Commissioner General of the IAAC received the H.E. Uzra Zeya, the Under Secretary of State for Civil Security, Democracy and Human rights of the US State Department.

The meeting was attended by officials led by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States to Mongolia H.E. Richard Buangan, Head of the Political Chef of the Embassy, Mr. Kelly Busby. Commissioner General briefly introduced the Mongolian Anti-Corruption policy, measures, and results.

H.E. Uzra Zeya praised the activities of the IAAC for its effective work in the investigation of corruption crimes and mentioned the importance of anti-corruption in supporting the long-term sustainable development of Mongolia by strengthening democracy and freedom and expressed interest in effectively cooperating in the fight against corruption.

Commissioner General Mr. Dashdavaa expressed his appreciation and gratitude for the US government's cooperation in the fight against corruption and the "Mongolia Institutional Integrity Project" currently being implemented in Mongolia with the funding of the US Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs (INL) and exchanged views on the implementation of the project. He also appreciated the friendly cooperation between the United States Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation and emphasized their effective measures in returning stolen assets to Mongolia.

At the end of the meeting, H.E. Uzra Zeya expressed her willingness to intensify and support effective cooperation in the fight against corruption, and the two sides exchanged views and agreed on measures to be taken in the future.
