DEPUTY DIRECTOR-GENERAL OF THE IAAC PARTICIPATED IN THE ASSET RECOVERY INTER-AGENCY NETWORK OF WEST AND CENTRAL ASIA

The delegation led by Mr. Azjargal, Deputy Director-General, the Independent Authority Against Corruption, participated in the Asset Recovery Inter-Agency Network of West and Central Asia meeting held on November 23-26, 2021 in Tashkent, Republic of Uzbekistan.

The meeting was held at the Prosecution Academy of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Uzbekistan and was attended by prosecutors, law enforcement, and financial specialists from Mongolia, Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan.

Participants of the Asset Recovery Inter-Agency Network of West and Central Asia discussed formal and informal exchange of information on crime, evidence-based evidence, and the return of illicit assets, as well as examples of court cases.

Representatives of the IAAC, in addition to representing their country's organizations, also represented the Asia-Pacific region network, which shared their experience on asset recovery, international cooperation, legal framework, and corruption situation.

The organizers of the meeting expressed their deep gratitude to the Mongolian delegation for coming and sharing their good experiences and wished them to participate again and provide advice to other countries in the future.
