BATSAIKHAN JANJAA

(1969-2020)

Batsaikhan Janjaa, Deputy Director of the Independent Authority Against Corruption, Doctor of Law, has passed away on November 5, 2020, due to a serious illness and we have suffered an irreparable loss.

Batsaikhan Janjaa was born in 1969 in Ulaanbaatar as the eldest son of Janjaa.B. He graduated from the secondary school of Jargalant sum, Tuv aimag in 1987, from the Police Institute in 1997 as a lawyer, in 2000, as a teacher at the universities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, and in 2006 he received a doctorate in law from the Academy of Management of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russian Federation.

Batsaikhan Janjaa served in the 196th People’s Army Unit from 1989 to 1990. From 1990, he was the Head of the Third Special Division of the General Police Department of the Ministry of Public Security. From 2005, he was the Head of Department of the General Intelligence Agency, between 2007 and 2016, Head of Division of the IAAC, from 2016, First Deputy Director of the General Executive Agency of Court Decision, and Deputy Director of IAAC since May 2019.

Batsaikhan Janjaa was one of the first directors of the IAAC and made an invaluable contribution to the fight against corruption, implementing justice in society, empowering public intolerance of corruption, establishing a system for registering and inspecting assets and income declarations of public officials in Mongolia.

His efforts were recognized by the Government which he was awarded the Glory of the Intelligence Agency, the Honorary Badge of the General Executive Agency of Court Decision, Honorary Officer of the Intelligence Agency, Police Medal of Merit, the Military Medal of Honor, the Military Medal of Merit and the Military Medal of the Red Banner.

Batsaikhan Janjaa was a caring, helpful, humane, friendly, creative, humble, and kind-hearted scholar to his family, colleagues, and friends.

His deeds, diligence, humility, honesty, humanity, and kindness will live forever in our hearts.
