MONGOLIA: PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION CANDIDATES’ DECLARATION OF INCOME AND ASSETS WILL BE PLACED OPEN TO THE PUBLIC

The Presidential Election of Mongolia will be held on June 9, 2021, throughout the country. Pursuant to Article 10.6 of the Anti-Corruption Law, Article 11.2 of the Law on Election, and Article 28.2.3 of the Law on Presidential Election of Mongolia, a candidate for the President of Mongolia shall submit their Declaration of Interest, Income, and Assets to the Independent Authority Against Corruption.  The IAAC is preparing to register and receive candidates' declaration of income and assets in an electronic system on May 3 and 4, 2021, in accordance with the law.

Under Article 28.10 of the Law on Presidential Election of Mongolia, the Declaration of Interest, Income, and Assets submitted by an election candidate to the electronic system will be posted online open to the public from May 24, 2021.

General Election Commission had organized an online meeting on April 21, 2021, and provided detailed information on the above-mentioned issues to the relevant authorities.

The online meeting was attended by about 40 representatives of political parties, coalitions, governmental and non-governmental organizations participating in the 2021 Presidential Election of Mongolia. The IAAC, in cooperation with the General Election Commission, has made a handbook entitled “To the Candidate for the President of Mongolia” and distributed it to the relevant people.
