Representatives of the IAAC held a meeting with T.Munkhsaikhan, Minister of Health, and Ya.Amarjargal, State Secretary of Ministry of Health on September 3, 2020.

From August 31 to September 4, 2020, the Investigation department of the IAAC received 25 criminal complaints and investigated a total of 79 complaints. 7 criminal cases were opened, 10 complaints were referred to prosecutors with a proposal to refuse to open criminal cases, and 62 complaints are currently being investigated.

Out of the 484 criminal cases investigated last week, 5 were referred to the court, 8 were referred to the prosecutors’ office with proposal to refuse to open a criminal case, 2 were transferred to another agency by jurisdiction, and 3 were consolidated. There are currently 466 criminal cases under investigation.

From August 31 to September 4, 2020, IAAC examined the preliminary private interest declaration of 223 nominees for public office.

Last week, 135 preliminary declarations were received and a total of 344 preliminary declarations were examined. There are 121 preliminary declarations currently under examination.

Representative of IAAC held a meeting with L.Tsedensuren, Minister of Education and Science, introduced the current situation of corruption in the education sector, and exchanged opinions on working cooperatively in the field of corruption prevention in the education sector. During the meeting, D.Dulamsuren, Head of the Prevention and Public Awareness Department of IAAC said that “Education sector is considered prone to the risk of corruption. According to the result of the Integrity Assessment, the Ministry of Education and Science was one of the 5 ministries with the lowest score. Therefore, it is required to change the situation. Some of the issues indicated in the National Anti-Corruption Program are included in the Government Action Plan 2020-2024. This is an an opportunity to implement the program effectively. The government provides opportunities to address many issues that caused citizens frustration, bureaucracy and difficulties within the development of e-government. The Ministry of Education and Science is applauded for getting started to offer its services online.” L.Tsedevsuren, Minister of Education and Science informed the education reform policies will be carried out systematically in the education sector such as by establishing “Student Development Center” in secondary school, implementing “Voluntary work” program for universities starting from 2021, providing online licensing service, transfering the training for teachers to an electronic format, and introducing GIS system to the education sector. She expressed her readiness to work cooperatively to prevent corruption.

Last week, the Investigation department of the IAAC recovered damages of MNT 237 million caused by a crime.

In the result of the investigation, "Erdenes tavan tolgoi" LC was found to have purchased a substandard bus worth MNT 237.0 million and returned the amount to the state budget.

The Inspection and Analysis Department of IAAC, during the period starting from 23 to 27 March of 2020, has inspected 86 complaints with 9 of them resolved and 77 of them are under scrutiny.

According to the Article 10 and 11 if the Anti-Corruption Law, candidates of the parliamentary election are obliged to submit their asset and income declaration to IAAC.
