ministry of Mining and heavy industry TO cooperate with IAAC for prevention of corruption and improvement of ethics

Working group headed by D.Dulamsuren, Head of Prevention and Public Awareness Department held an official meeting with G.Yondon, Minister of Mining and Heavy Industry. During the meeting, representatives of IAAC introduced an overview of the current situation of corruption in the mining sector, petitions, complaints, information submitted by citizens and organizations, government resolutions in the sector, complaints related to mining exploration, exploitation, and rehabilitation activities. Also exchanged views on the further cooperation. G.Yondon, Minister of Mining and Heavy Industry said, “We will implement e-policy to facilitate time-consuming and cumbersome activities related to the mining sector, such as obtaining licenses, permits, and official documents. Also, will seek the feedback of non-governmental organizations in this area and cooperate with them. We will improve the ethics and communications of employees in the mining sector.” The Ministry will cooperate with IAAC for reducing the risk of corruption, and conflict of interests.

A MEeTing with chaiRMAN of the anti-corruption agency of kazakhstan

Mr. Z.Dashdavaa, Director and General Commissioner of IAAC held an online meeting with Mr. Alik Shpekbayev, Chairman of the Anti-corruption Agency of Kazakhstan to exchange views on bilateral cooperation. Heads of departments and divisions of the two organizations attended the meeting to discusse possible cooperation activities between the parties. The directors of the two organizations met for the first time in November 2019 during the Conference of the International Anti-Corruption Academy in Nursultan city.

iaac investigated 85 COMPLAINTS WITH CRIMINAL NATURE

From September 14 to 18, 2020, the Investigation department received 28 criminal complaints, and investigated a total of 85 complaints. 14 criminal cases were opened, 11 complaints were referred to prosecutors’ office with a proposal to refuse to open criminal case, and 60 complaints are currently being investigated.

 Of the 475 criminal cases investigated last week, 9 were referred to the court, 8 were referred to the prosecutors’ office with proposal to refuse to open criminal case, and 3 were consolidated. There are currently 457 criminal cases under investigation.

IAAC EXAMINED THE PRELIMINARY PRIVATE INTEREST DECLARATION OF 160 NOMINEES FOR PUBLIC OFFICE

From September 14 to 18, 2020, IAAC received the preliminary private interest declaration of 134 nominees for public office and a total of 160 preliminary declarations were examined. There are 182 preliminary declarations currently under examination.

Last week, IAAC has resolved private interest, assets and income declaration of 12 officials.

There are 45 officials’ private interest, assets and income declarations currently under examination.

IAAC reviewed 9 COMPLAINTS RELATED TO CONFLICT OF INTERESTs of public officials

From September 14 to 18, 2020, the Inspection and Analysis Department received and investigated 13 complaints submitted by citizens and legal entities regarding corruption, and conflict of interests of public officials.

Last week, 9 complaints were inspected and resolved. There are 38 conflict of interest complaints currently under inspection.
