The Presidential Election of Mongolia will be held on June 9, 2021, throughout the country. Pursuant to Article 10.6 of the Anti-Corruption Law, Article 11.2 of the Law on Election, and Article 28.2.3 of the Law on Presidential Election of Mongolia, a candidate for the President of Mongolia shall submit their Declaration of Interest, Income, and Assets to the Independent Authority Against Corruption. The IAAC is preparing to register and receive candidates' declaration of income and assets in an electronic system on May 3 and 4, 2021, in accordance with the law.
Independent Authority Against Corruption (IAAC) conducts an annual survey to determine the perceptions and attitudes of people with disabilities about corruption. By conducting this survey at regular intervals, it is possible to compare the relevant changes in the target group and use them as policies and programs for the next phase of anti-corruption activities.
Citizens must be well aware of their duty to report for the sake of the public interest. But there are some cases that when reporting or addressing to any organizations or officials, inappropriate issues are not reported for fear of intimidation or harassment. Countries around the world have decided on this issue for enacting whistleblower protection law. Our country should follow this standard. To fulfill its obligations as a member of the UN Convention against Corruption, the National Anti-Corruption Program of Mongolia includes providing the legal environment to protect whistleblowers.
Adoption of a new, democratic Constitution in 1992and the transition to a market-based, privately ownedsocio-economic system have brought many benefits toMongolia, but at the same time, one of the many emergedproblems was corruption, which appeared in almost everysector of society.Recognizing that corruption is a major obstacle to thecountry’s socio-economic development, the MongolianParliament adopted the first Anti-Corruption Law in 1996and the first National Anti-Corruption Strategy in 2002. In2005, Mongolia also ratified the United Nations Convention Against Corruption and expressed its commitment tofighting corruption around the world.Anti-Corruption Law was revised by the Parliament in July2006, and the Independent Authority Against Corruption, the first special anti-corruption bodyin Mongolia, was established on 11 January 2007.

In accordance with the Anti-Corruption Law and the National Anti-Corruption Program, the IAAC is conducting a wide range of activities to raise public awareness of the social dangers of corruption.
