DELEGATION PARTICIPATES IN THE 91ST INTERPOL GENERAL ASSEMBLY

A Mongolian delegation took part in the 91st General Assembly of the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL), held in Vienna, Republic of Austria, from November 28 to December 1, 2023, as part of INTERPOL’s 100th anniversary events.
The delegation included representatives from the Prosecutor General’s Office of Mongolia, the Independent Authority Against Corruption (IAAC), and the National Police Agency. The assembly brought together around 1,000 delegates from more than 160 countries. During the event, the Republic of Palau was admitted as a new member of INTERPOL, and participants reviewed the organization’s achievements over the past century as well as its future priorities, with a focus on strengthening cooperation among law enforcement agencies.
On the sidelines of the assembly, INTERPOL President Ahmed Naser Al-Raisi met with representatives from Mongolia’s Prosecutor General’s Office, IAAC, and National Police Agency. During the meeting, the Mongolian side expressed its interest in enhancing cooperation, particularly in locating and repatriating individuals who have committed crimes and fled abroad, as well as in tracing and confiscating illicit assets. INTERPOL welcomed these proposals and reaffirmed its support for closer collaboration, including in combating corruption and transnational organized crime, improving information exchange, and providing training and capacity-building for law enforcement officials.
INTERPOL, established in 1923 in Vienna, Austria, is an international organization that supports member countries in preventing and combating transnational crime. Mongolia became a member of INTERPOL on November 4, 1991.
