DIRECTOR OF THE INDEPENDENT AUTHORITY AGAINST CORRUPTION OF MONGOLIA MEETS THE CHINESE AMBASSADOR

The Director and Commissioner General of the Independent Authority Against Corruption (IAAC) of Mongolia Z. Dashdavaa, received H.E. Ms. Shen Minjuan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to Mongolia, on December 6, 2023.

The meeting was attended by senior representatives from the Chinese Embassy, including Consul and Senior Police Attaché Brigadier General Shi Yunbin, Minister-Counselor Zang Yang, and Attaché B. Biligbadar. From the IAAC, Head of Administration Department and Chief Commissioner Z. Baasannyam, and Head of the Investigation Department and Chief Commissioner Kh. Buyantumen were also present.

At the beginning of the meeting, Commissioner General Z. Dashdavaa congratulated Ambassador Shen Minjuan on her appointment and provided an overview of Mongolia’s anti-corruption policy, ongoing initiatives, and results. The two sides exchanged views on strengthening cooperation with relevant Chinese institutions with similar mandates, protecting the rights of citizens of both countries within the framework of the law, and promoting fair business practices.

Ambassador Shen Minjuan commended Mongolia’s anti-corruption efforts and emphasized that bilateral cooperation plays a vital role in supporting foreign investment, ensuring sustainable economic development, and protecting human rights. She expressed China’s commitment to further expanding active cooperation between Mongolia’s IAAC and China’s National Supervisory Commission.

The IAAC and the Supreme People’s Procuratorate of China signed a Memorandum of Understanding in 2014, and the two sides have since maintained effective and mutually beneficial cooperation.
