Delegation Led by the Director of IAAC Participated in the Partnerships for Anticorruption Global Forum 2025 in Washington, D.C.

Mr. Dashdavaa Zandraa, General Commissioner and Director of the Independent Authority Against Corruption of Mongolia (IAAC), participated in the “Global Forum on Anti-Corruption Partnerships 2025,” being held in Washington, D.C., United States of America.
The forum is jointly organized by the World Bank Group’s Anti-Corruption for Development (AC4D) Global Program and the International Corruption Hunters Alliance (ICHA). It has brought together more than 300 leaders and representatives from governments, anti-corruption agencies, academia, civil society, the private sector, and international development programs from countries demonstrating strong commitment and progress in combating corruption and promoting integrity.
The Global Forum features a series of high-level plenary and breakout sessions focusing on the importance of partnerships in addressing corruption. Key themes include: the role of public officials in anti-corruption efforts; beneficial ownership transparency and combating illicit financial flows; governance and corruption; regulatory approaches to promoting integrity; the role of partnerships in fostering accountability and integrity ecosystems; supporting countries in anti-corruption efforts; and strengthening international cooperation against corruption.
In response to the adverse social and environmental impacts of corruption, the World Bank Group is advancing a more integrated approach that leverages new knowledge, data, tools, and partnerships, with a stronger focus on achieving tangible results. In his opening remarks, Mr. Mouhamadou Diagne, Vice President for Integrity at the World Bank Group, emphasized that “the time calls for enhanced cooperation to effectively address the negative impacts of corruption, which continue to hinder long-term economic growth and shared prosperity across countries worldwide.”

On the sidelines of the Forum, General Commissioner Z. Dashdavaa held official meetings with Mr. Samuel Bwana, Manager of the Investigations Unit under the Integrity Vice Presidency of the World Bank Group; Mr. Richeliou Lomax, Regional Team Lead for East Africa; Mr. Gian Piero Antonazzo, Regional Team Lead for East Asia and the Pacific; Mr. Nodir Zakirov, former Regional Team Lead for East Asia and the Pacific; and Mr. Suan Luo, Senior Investigator for the East Asia and Pacific region.
During the meetings, both sides underlined the effective cooperation established between the IAAC of Mongolia and the World Bank Group under the Memorandum of Understanding concluded between the parties. Moreover, they acknowledged successful collaboration in asset recovery, conducting joint investigations, the registration and verification of asset and income declarations of public officials, and efforts to combat illicit enrichment.
Mr. Samuel Bwana expressed his high appreciation for the professional competence of IAAC investigators and noted their strong performance in complex investigations. The parties agreed to further strengthen cooperation in specific areas, including the specialization and capacity-building of investigators handling transnational corruption and financial crimes, as well as enhancing mutual exchange of experience.
