DELEGATION LED BY THE CHIEF COMMISSIONER OF THE MALAYSIAN ANTI-CORRUPTION COMMISSION VISITS MONGOLIA

At the invitation of Commissioner General of the Independent Authority Against Corruption (IAAC) of Mongolia Z. Dashdavaa, a delegation led by Chief Commissioner of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Azam bin Baki paid a working visit to Mongolia from 24 to 28 February 2025.
The delegation included Chief Commissioner Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Azam Baki, Director of the Policy, Planning and Research Mrs. Rasidah Abdul Karim, Head of International Affairs Ms. Nik Nurzai binti Mohd Zainudin, and Special Officer Mr. Mohd Fadzil bin Md Amin.
Commissioner General of the IAAC of Mongolia Z. Dashdavaa received Chief Commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki and his delegation. At the beginning of the meeting, Z. Dashdavaa noted that combating corruption is one of the key priorities of the President and Prime Minister of Mongolia, emphasizing that Mongolia is intensifying its efforts to fight corruption and achieve tangible results. He also expressed confidence in further developing active, effective, and exemplary cooperation between the two institutions.
Chief Commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki, who is visiting Mongolia for the first time, expressed his pleasure at the visit and conveyed greetings from Prime Minister of Malaysia Mr. Anwar Ibrahim and the Minister of Law. He highlighted that, with the support of the Prime Minister, Malaysia is actively expanding international cooperation in combating corruption. Noting that the anti-corruption agencies of Mongolia and Malaysia share common goals in promoting integrity in public and business sectors and strengthening good governance, he expressed the MACC’s readiness to cooperate in all relevant areas.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner General of the IAAC G. Azjargal, Head of the Administration Department Z. Baasannyam, and Head of the National Anti-Corruption Strategy Implementation Department M. Davaatogtokh.
Following the meeting, the parties signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the Prevention and Fight against Corruption between the Independent Authority Against Corruption of Mongolia and the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission, officially launching cooperation between the two anti-corruption agencies.
The visit served as a productive opportunity for both sides to deepen bilateral relations, discuss potential areas of cooperation, organize joint training programs, and strengthen the professional capacity and expertise of their officials.
